  • Sector entrepreneur Auren Hoffman publishes some of the most coherent stuff of any startup leader anywhere. This week, he takes a look at A-players. His suggestion is that if you want to attract them, you need to get rid of some of your rules. Where B and C players need to be told what to do, A players leave when you try to. • Top 100 InfluencerWes Wu joined Knowledge Infusion as principal consultant. Wes is managing editor of the IHRIM Journal and writer of the blog, systematicHR. He contributes regularly to industry publications including IHRIM Journal, IHRIM.link, and HR Executive Magazine.
  • One of the most interesting blogs in the talent management space belongs to Stepstone. • The Social Recruiting Summit was a Top 100 love-in. Bill Kutik, Gerry Crispin, Matt Alder, Jessica Lee, Eric Winegardner and others livened up the place.

I spoke with him briefly about the award. He instantaneously shifted the conversation to the importance of the award for the company and the powerful team he works with. That’s leadership.
  • If you didn’t get a chance to see Fred Wilson’s pitch (keynote) at the Social Recruiting Summit, the presentation is online. Wilson, writes the successful AVC blog. The comments are particularly worth examining. Fred takes the message of social recruiting well outside of the current silo / echo chamber (Great choice, Mr.Manaster)
